Valmet to handle conversion of Stora Enso's PM 3 in Varkaus

Stora Enso has placed an order with Valmet to convert its PM 3 in Varkaus from a fine paper machine to a machine for lightweight packaging paper. According to Valmet, the value of the order amounts to around €30m. The machine-engineering company said the order covers a new headbox as well as rebuild of the forming section, press section, dryer section, calender, reel, and winder. Stora Enso had reported in an earlier announcement that the conversion work is to begin in autumn 2015. Production is scheduled to start in the fourth quarter of the same year.
