Finland reports higher output of pulp and paperboard

In 2013 the Finnish forest industry produced more pulp and board than in the previous year. Output of wood products also increased, but production of paper once again decreased, the Finnish Forest Industries Federation (FFIF) reveals in its latest statistics for 2013. According to the federation, pulp manufacturers' output by the end of 2013 was at par again with the first quarter after experiencing a slight dip in the course of the year. Pulp production in 2013 was around 4% higher than in the previous year, which FFIF attributes, amongst other things, to strong export which increased by 8% compared to 2012. Likewise, production volumes of paperboard manufacturers were 7% higher than in 2012.
