Central European decor paper producers have resumed operations as planned after typically going offline for two to three weeks over the Christmas and New Year period. Most paper machines were restarted on 6 or 7 January. A few plants went back online on 2 January; one machine stood idle until mid-January due to a rebuilding project. Production has since run without interruptions, with no major stoppages on the books for the coming weeks, either. A few manufacturers are now planning to go offline next over Easter. The trend in demand will determine whether these stoppages will take place and how long they will be.
