UPM and Leipa in sale talks on Schwedt newsprint mill

UPM and Germany's Leipa Georg Leinfelder GmbH are in advanced talks on the sale and conversion of UPM's Schwedt newsprint mill. The two companies announced that Leipa is considering the acquisition of the UPM Schwedt site with the aim to convert the newsprint mill to white-top testliner production. Leipa explained it had already signed a letter of intent with UPM GmbH and will commence a due diligence investigation of the project with immediate effect.
