Reno de Medici posts €10m profit in first nine months

Italian board manufacturer Reno de Medici (RDM) closed the first nine months of the year with a net profit of €10.09m and an operating profit of €15.85m. This puts the company's results 4% and 6% lower respectively than for the same period of last year. Sales, on the other hand, rose by €12m to €334.75m. Reno de Medici describes the market environment as generally favourable. In Europe, demand for GD board from January to September was 4% higher than last year, the company says. A marked upswing was noted in the third quarter in particular. RDM says this growth might be partly attributable to temporary measures to build up stocks. Stock levels in Europe were apparently well above those of last year until August. In September, however, the restricted activities in summer had failed to pick up as quickly as anticipated, says RDM.
