Kruger rebuilds newsprint PM to produce recycled CCM

Kruger Packaging L.P., part of Montreal-based Kruger Inc., will rebuild a newsprint machine that is to manufacture recycled corrugated case material at its Trois-Rivieres mill in Canada. The company announced that it would invest C$250m(€167m) over the next 20 months, which means the rebuilt PM 10 could be re-commissioned at the end of the first quarter of 2017. Kruger Packaging plans to fully modernise the line to incorporate state-of-the-art technology. The PM will then have a capacity of 360,000 t of lightweight testliner. Part of this paper is planned to be converted at the group's Canadian LaSalle and Brampton corrugated board mills, while another part is to be sold on the market.
