Recycled containerboard and fine paper producers want to charge more in France

Many of France's paper and board markets were in holiday mode in August, as expected, with the customary levels of business and downtime reported. Demand for corrugated case material remained relatively lively, leading manufacturers to sound the bell for the next round of price discussions when they will try to charge higher prices again from September. Woodfree paper producers are also still trying to improve their thin margins and have told their customers that they intend to raise prices again in September. The upward spiral in prices for ordinary recovered paper grades reached the end of the line for now, with prices not expected to rise in September, either. Instead, insiders think that prices might come under pressure.
