DS Smith investing in Witzenhausen paper mill

British packaging group DS Smith of London is investing in its German recycled corrugated case material mill in Witzenhausen. According to mill manager Mark Ketterle, an investment package of approximately €13m is planned for modernisation measures in 2015/2016. A major component of the project is the renovation of the pulper. The new, considerably larger pulper is said to have been ordered from Voith Paper and is designed for a future increase in output. It is scheduled to be put into service in October 2016. The investment project company also covers the starch silos and the water treatment system.
