Catalyst Paper reports production loss in Crofton

Catalyst Paper Corporation announced its Crofton mill in British Columbia incurred production losses of approximately 8,6001 of pulp and 8,600 t of paper during June due to operating issues. The issues have now been resolved and the mill is operating again at full capacity, according to the company. Current customer orders were not affected by the production losses, but these would reduce second-quarter EBITDA approximately CAD5-6m. The Crofton site is an integrated mill, where Catalyst Paper operates two pulp lines and three paper machines. The mill has the capacity to produce 335,000 tpy of pulp, 194,000 tpy of newsprint and 111,000 tpy of directory paper. The site has 569 employees.
