J.W. Childs to sell Esselte to ACCO Brands

New York Stock Exchange-listed ACCO Brands Corporation has signed a definitive agreement with the private equity firm J.W. Childs on the acquisition of the European stationery and office products producer Esselte Group Holdings AB. According to the companies involved, the purchase price amounts to $333m in cash. J.W. Childs had taken over Esselte in 2002 for $330m. In 2014 RR Donnelley acquired Esselte's North America operations for $97m. In mid-2015 Esselte Leitz ceased production in Stuttgart-Feu-erbach in order to move the production of Leitz folders to Uelzen and in part to Poland and the Czech Republic.
