Titanium dioxide prices are on the rise in Q2, producers ask for more hikes in Q3 deliveries

In the negotiations for the second quarter, some of which were only concluded at the end of April, titanium dioxide (TiO_2) producers pushed through at least some of the price hikes which had already been announced in mid-December but not implemented in the first quarter. Both producers and buyers report that prices for rutile pigments, which are used, inter alia, in the decor-paper industry, were increased on average by €70-100/t in second quarter deliveries. Where the former price was low, bigger corrections were also made; some decor-paper producers had to accept supplements in excess of €100/t.This means that the price spectrum has narrowed again. On average, prices for rutile pigments have reached the order of €1,950-2,020/t free delivered.
