摘要

China's "new normal", which is associated with economic growth rates of around 6.5%, will definitely have repercussions on the global paper market. In 2020 the Chinese paper industry will probably produce 2.3 million t more printing and writing paper than the country consumes. This would equal a surplus output of 5.2% of worldwide demand for these paper grades, said Per-Ove Nordstrom of McKinsey & Company, speaking at the International Recovered Paper Conference held by the German Federal Association of Secondary Raw Materials and Waste Management (bvse) in Duesseldorf. Should China's growth rate fall to 5%, the surplus production would even total 3.5 million t, which could cover 6.4% of global demand.
