Europac is back on growth track in 2015

After a sluggish 2014 performance, Spanish paper and packaging manufacturer Europac returned on a growth track again in 2015. The company's consolidated net sales increased year-on-year by nearly 4% while operating earnings surged by as much as 40%. For 2015, Europac made a net profit of €32.4m, 31% more than in 2014. The Spanish company sees the main reasons for its excellent performance last year in higher deliveries and improved profit margins in the packaging paper business. The development was mainly driven by an increase in sales prices and helped by brisk demand and low inventories. Europac has reportedly seen little change as regards raw material costs. A hike in recovered paper prices at the beginning of the year was partially offset by a price reduction as of September, especially for brown grades, Europac observed.
