Cepi Containerboard urges newspaper publishers to shift to mineral oil free printing inks

In the interest of a sound, ecological circular economy, Cepi Containerboard, the European industry association of containerboard producers, demands that newspaper printing should gradually shift production to mineral oil free printing ink. The association explains that public debate about traces of mineral oil in foodstuffs has been quite lively for some time now, and recycled paper has been repeatedly named one of the main sources of food contamination as they are used for packaging food. Mixed recovered paper, which also contains old newspapers, is often used to produce packaging board.
