CPI criticises EU ETS rule change for British mills

The Confederation of Paper Industries (CPI) has issued a public statement outlining its opposition to EU plans to change rules applying to the UK relating to the validity of the EU European Trading Scheme (ETS) permits to British operators in the context of Brexit. In a press release, the CPI stated that the new rules created a great deal of uncertainty for British paper mills. Instead, the confederation suggests allowing current rules applying until phase three of the emission trading scheme ending on 31 December 2020 to continue to apply to the UK, too.
