EC antitrust officials search premises of kraft paper and industrial paper sacks companies

Last week, the European Commision (EC) announced that its officials have inspected the premises of several kraft paper and industrial paper sacks companies in different EU countries.The officials were looking for evidence of anticompetitive practices: the EC has concerns that relevant companies may have violated EU competition laws, which prohibit price fixing and customer al- location. According to the EC, the inspections are part of the same investigation that led the Commission to carry out unannounced inspections in the same sector in March last year.
