Sappi orders new evaporation plant for Ngodwana pulp mill

Sappi Limited has contracted Finnish machine-engineering Valmet to supply a new evaporating line for its South African Ngodwana pulp and paper mill. The line will replace an older, existing line and "meet the needs of the mill's ongoing pulp production capacity expansion", Valmet explained. It will be commissioned in the second half of 2018. The cost of the upgrade was not revealed but Valmet puts the value of a comparable project at below €10m.
