Paloma officially inaugurates TM 9 project, announces fresh expansion of tissue production

Slovenia's producer of sanitary paper and products Paloma, a subsidiary of Slovak Hygienic Paper (SHP) group, has concluded the upgrade and capacity expansion project at the company's sole tissue mill in Sladki Vrh, north of Maribor. The mill's tissue machine TM 9 was formally commissioned at an inauguration ceremony attended by Slovenian prime minister Janez Jansa in early June. The machine achieved its rated speed and capacity already in March 2021, Italian machine supplier Tosco-tec informed. The new TM has a trim width of 5.5 m and runs at speeds of up to 2,000 m/min. Daily production capacity amounts to 220 t and the TM will produce 70,000 tpy, Paloma informs. It replaces the older tissue machine TM 6 which was decommissioned and dismantled in June 2020.The tissue mill in Sladki Vrh, which is located at the border to Austria, now has capacity to produce 90,000 tpy.
