Powell River newsprint mill planned to be restarted

Canadian pulp and paper manufacturer Paper Excellence is preparing the restart of its Powell River paper mill, which has been mothballed for several months now. The company informed that is was planning to put one of the site's two paper machines back into operation on or around 1 May. A total of 200 jobs will return with the startup of the machine. Paper Excellence hopes to be able to restart the mill's second PM later in 2021.
