Decor paper manufacturers see another rise in order intake towards end of 2020

An upswing in demand for decor paper that emerged during the second half of 2020 picked up the pace in November and December. Order intake continued to strengthen across virtually all grades and sales regions. Many buyers increased the amount that they ordered or added to existing reservations in the final weeks of 2020. Average order backlogs and lead times in the decor paper industry increased again as a result. Based on these orders and reservations that are rated as relatively firm, most paper machines can run at full capacity into March. By contrast, inventories have receded more and more and were very low in most instances in December.
