Wepa to expand tissue capacity in Piechowice

Sanitary paper producer Wepa has ordered a tissue machine from Italian mechanical engineering company Toscotec for its plant in Piechowice, Poland. Toscotec reports that commissioning of the new machine is scheduled for the third quarter of 2021, adding that this is already the second order from Wepa for a new tissue line for the company's Piechowice site. The new line has a working width of 2.75 m and a production capacity of up to 40,000 tpy of tissue made from either primary fibres or deinked pulp. The Piechowice plant will primarily use the new line for manufacturing toilet paper, kitchen rolls and paper towels for the away-from-home seg- ment. The site currently has a capacity of 65,000 tpy of tissue.
