Austropapier: Paper industry essential for basic supply

Maintaining paper production is essential to en-sure the supply of hygiene products, food and pharma products to the population. The protec-tion of employees is the top priority, and hygiene conditions have been further tightened, reports Austrian paper association Austropapier. "Without paper and pulp production, there would be no toilet paper, disposable hygiene products, or safely packaged food and pharma products,"says Gabriele Herzog, Managing Direc-tor of Austropapier. Currently, production plants are also coming under increasing pressure due to the corona pandemic. In Italy, all "non-essential" operations have already been closed.
