NBSK pulp prices still declining in September, but at a slower pace

The downturn in northern bleached softwood kraft (NBSK) prices has slowed a little in Europe. Instead of dropping another $50/t, as in months past, manufacturers and converters agreed on price cuts in the region of $30-40/t in September. Suppliers apparently mounted more opposition to additional price decreases than in months past, buyers said. The two sides had ultimately agreed on a contract price of $820-830/t for September, buyers and suppliers confirm.
