Paper and board prices in Italy dictated by slow demand and cheaper raw materials

Publication paper manufacturers have not escaped unscathed from weak demand and abundant supply on the market in Italy: buyers walked away from price talks for deliveries in the second half or third quarter of 2019 with significant price cuts. However, manufacturers have largely kept their composure, saying their job now was to improve capacity utilisation and manage as well as possible through the second half of the year.
