Friedrich Freund rescued from insolvency

German corrugated packaging producer Friedrich Freund GmbH Kartonagenfabrik successfully underwent restructuring as a debtor in possession. On 29 May the company's creditors unanimously accepted - and the local court of Mayen approved - the insolvency plan submitted by the company. However, as already announced in mid-December, it was not possible to rescue the producer's Georgsmarienhutte plant, where the company primarily used to manufacture solid board products.
