Europac reports another record year of growth in 2017

With sales up by 8% and net profit 60% higher than in the previous year, Europac had a successful financial year in 2017. Like many European packaging paper producers, the Spanish company benefited from the ongoing good demand for corrugated case material and corrugated board products. Lower availability of kraftliner imports from the USA as well as the repositioning of Europac's production to focus more on higher value added papers also helped boost performance. Furthermore, the sale of the packaging business in Tangier, Morocco, brought in millions of euros for Europac. This was contrasted by investments of €65m, such as for the updating and expansion of production in various paper and packaging factories as well as for acquisitions in the recycling and packaging sectors.
