DOC imposes preliminary AD duties on Canadian imports of newsprint and other paper grades

The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has imposed preliminary antidumping (AD) duties on the import of newsprint and other grades of uncoa-ted groundwood paper from Canada. The duties, which were announced on 13 March, range from 0% to 22.16%. According to the department, Canada exported a total of 2.3 million t of the affected paper grades worth $1.3bn to the USA in 2016. DOC said it would announce itsflnal determination on or about 2 August 2018.
