Spain's paper industry invests in paper grades with a high growth potential

By spending almost €900m in the course of the past three years and with planned investments of around €500m in 2018, Spain's paper industry is focussing on the production of paper that offers a high growth potential and high value creation such as packaging and specialty paper. On the occasion of the presentation of the annual statistical report on the country's paper sector, Enrique Isidro, President of Aspapel (association of Spanish paper, board and pulp producers), explained that the capital spending of €479m envisaged for 2018 accounted for more than 10% of last year's sales revenues, which were up by 3.8% compared to the previous year and totalled €4.4bn.
