Andritz to rebuild paper machine at UPM Nordland

Andritz has received an order from UPM Nordland Papier to rebuild its PM 2 in Dorpen, which is to produce label release paper. UPM said the rebuild would add 110,000 tpy to its release paper capacity. Start-up after the rebuild is scheduled for the final quarter of 2019. In earlier statements the investment total was placed at €116m. After the rebuild and during the start-up and market introduction stage, the PM is to produce both release and fine paper. Depending on the grammage of the paper produced, the paper machine's current capacity lies between 150,000 tpy and 180,000 tpy. Reports indicate that its siliconized release paper capacity will drop to 110,000 tpy due to the lower basis weight.
