High pulp costs erode operating profit of James Cropper's paper division by half

The 2018 business year (ended 31 March) has been "one of great contrasts" for British speciality paper producer James Cropper PLC, accompanied by growth and advances as well as the exorbitant cost increase for pulp. The company's sales increased to £96.3m (2017: £92.4m) while operating profit and net profit receded to £5.4m (from £6.2m) and £4.1m (from £4.6m) respectively.
