One PM stopped at Modi's Ruzomberok mill for several days following fire

Production of woodfree uncoated paper was limited for several days following a fire at Mon-di group's Ruzomberok fine paper and kraft paper mill in Slovakia. The British-South African group further announced the permanent shutdown of a fine paper PM at its South African site in Merebank in view of exorbitant pulp prices. Mondi's performance in the first half of the year was strong despite high costs of energy, transport and chemicals beside pulp. The group writes in its report for the first half of the year that it is especially satisfied with its performance in the segments for packaging paper and fibre-based packaging.
