Global market for sack kraft paper and kraft paper still growing, but at a slower pace

14.4 million t of sack kraft paper and kraft paper were produced last year all over the world. The tonnage is equivalent to $16.1bn and is expected to increase slightly to $16.5bn in 2018. British market research company Smithers Pira forecasts in its recent study "The Future of Sack and Kraft Paper to 2023" that output will touch 20.7 million t by 2023, growing by 2.9% on an average in the next five years. This would represent slower growth than in the last five years when average annual growth amounted to around 4%.
