Water shortage impacts output at Stora Enso Nymoella mill

Stora Enso has partly suspended production at the Nymölla mill due low water levels in the river supplying the mill. According to local media reports, pulping operations have been currently standing still. In addition, the company has idled production on one of the two fine paper machines at the site. Stora Enso confirmed that a "controlled temporary shutdown of parts of the mill" had been initiated on 1 October in order to reduce water usage. Stora Enso was not able to predict how long the partial downtime at the Nymölla mill was going to last or make estimates on the production shortfall.
