It's Time for Some Backbone On Broadband

During the current economic crisis, we've learned that we need to work together-pull in the same direction politically, fiscally and technologically-to progress as a nation. That lesson applies to the work we do at local and state governmental levels as well, and nothing illustrates it better than the course the government is pursuing with broadband.rnOften, public safety and other government agencies within a community are not working efficiently to get the most out of the dollars they're investing in broadband networks. Local governments are building their own enterprise networks at the same time public safety agencies are building out new Internet protocol (IP) infrastructure that connects tower sites, cable and telephone companies.
