COLLABORATIVE GOVERNANCE IN THE USA AND KOREA

This book is the result of scholarly research on examples of collaborative governance in the USA (California's Bay-Delta Water System, community organisation in Southern California) and in Korea (crematory facility sitting in Hanam City, waste facility siting in Gunpo City, community development projects, conflict management in Korean local administration, welfare service delivery). They cover instances of cooperation in both policy planning and service delivery. General reviews (on environmental justice and collaborative governance, cross-sectoral governance and performance in service delivery, implications for civic engagement) complete the book. The editors provide a helpful introduction to the contributors, explain definitions and give a conclusion, as well as an outline of the challenges for further research, highlighting the problems of different historic background, culture, demographics and institutional context.
