I am sitting at my computer working on the first annual budget for the Photographic Society of America (PSA) that I will submit as the Treasurer of the organization. The budget is a spending plan for the next fiscal year, beginning July 1st. I want to touch on various aspects of the PSA budget in this column. By the time the budget plan is completed many people will have made contributions to the budget. Many of these will involve an estimate of income and expenses from the various Chapters, Divisions, and committees. Everyone who contributes to the budget process does an excellent job and should be commended for the effort they make to keep expenses reasonable and produce the revenue needed to cover those expenses.
