Andrews & Robertson unable to replicate February success

Andrews & Robertson's latest auction failed to replicate the record result achieved in February, which the auctioneer put down to "over-optimistic" guide prices in the wake of that bumper sale. The London-based auction house raised £15.1m and sold 64 of the 91 lots on offer, reflecting a 70% success rate. This was less than half the £30.6m raised two months ago, when 87% of the 81 lots offered were sold, and also down on the £22m raised at the April auction last year, when Andrews & Robertson sold 86% of the 95 lots that went to auction.
