Birmingham housing market hit by lack of supply

During the past 12 to 18 months, the housing market in Birmingham has shown renewed life, after several years of stasis in the wake of the financial crisis. Renewed economic confidence, easier access to finance and record low interest rates, as well as deep demand for new housing, have all helped to drive the local market. Our latest residential land index research report shows a 5.5% annual growth in land values in the West Midlands. This statistic mirrors the slow but steady rise in national house prices over the past year and underlines the return of investment interest in the market.
