Over the past few years, Shaftesbury has been curating the Seven Dials area with the bold ambition to create the most enticing retail and leisure offering in London. A string of carefully chosen lettings is now bringing the REIT closer to this goal, though its work is certainly not done. Property Week speaks to Sam Bain-Mollison, Shaftesbury's head of group retail strategy and lettings, and Charles Owen, portfolio managerfor Seven Dials, about their plans. The biggest change to the streets over the past decade has stemmed from Shaftesbury's focus on its food offering to increase dwell time, with the introduction of restaurants such as Marcus Wareing's Tredwell's at 4 Upper St Martin's Lane, which will open this summer.
