Punt on airfield land finally pays off at New Bridge Dalton

In the mid-2000s, Dalton 009 bought a 66-acre chunk of land that became available at Dalton Airfield in North Yorkshire as a bit of a "punt", according to Lindsay Ross, a director at the property company. For a decade and a half little happened to the land, but earlier this year the owner started marketing sites for industrial design-and-build opportunities. Little over a month after the launch, 31 acres is in solicitors' hands and Ross is confident he will shift the remaining plots soon. As the success of the site proves, what looked like a speculative punt back in the mid-2000s was, in hindsight, a pretty safe bet.
