Short-haul intermodal moves drop The share of domestic intermodal revenue movements accounted for by moves of 1,000 miles or less has declined in the past year, according to a recent analysis by FTR Associates.rnDomestic intermodal equipment moving less than 1,000 miles accounted for 42 percent of total North American domestic equipmentrnrevenue moves, down 1 percent. Movements of less than 1,500 miles also declined 1.2 percent during the fourth quarter.
