Marlon Taylor

Marlon Taylor has risen through the ranks of Anacostia & Pacific Co. Inc.'s Pacific Harbor Line (PHL) because of his "incredible ability" to quickly learn and excel in new roles, says PHL President Otis Cliatt, who nominated Taylor as a Rising Star. Taylor joined PHL as assistant engineer in 1999. By 2008, he had advanced to the positions of locomotive engineer, train dispatcher and trainmaster. As PHL's transportation manager in 2012, he wrote a new rule-book for train and control operations. In March 2013, Taylor was promoted to his current job as director of operations at PHL, which provides rail transportation, maintenance and dispatching services to the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles.
