Septa launches ptc system The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) began provisional revenue service operation of its positive train control (PTC) system April 18 on the Warminster route. The PTC rollout made SEPTA the first U.S. commuter railroad operator to implement the advanced civil speed enforcement system (ACSES) as a PTC-compliant system, according to SEPTA. The PTC launch followed the Federal Railroad Administration's written authorization to begin the provisional service operation.
