Progress in Palliative Care, a well-established journal, is taking a new turn which I believe will add value tonthe readership.We have commissioned special editions which focus on important topics to palliative care. Innthe next year, we shall publish editions on heart failure, renal failure, surgical palliation, home care, bioethicsnand social work by well-respected and published leaders in their field. It is the hope of Sheila Payne, who isnthe Associate Editor and I, that the journal will reflect the multidisciplinary nature of palliative care.We hopenthat physicians, nurses, chaplains, social workers, as well as other specialists will find the journal helpful inntheir respective disciplines. We would also invite all specialties in the field of palliative care to considerncontributing manuscripts.
