Gabapentin is commonly used for neuropathic pain.nGabapentin has been associated with improved sleep,nstabilized mood, and reduced cancer-related fatigue.nDr Cruz and colleagues from Brazil randomized 80nindividuals to standard antiemetics (ondansetron,ndexamethasone, and ranitidine with dexamethasonenfor 2 additional days) or standard antiemetics plusngabapentin 300 mg for 4 days prior to moderate-to-nhighly emetogenic chemotherapy, and twice daily forn5 days afterwards or placebo. The proportion of com-nplete responders rose from 40 to 62.3%. Aprepitantnwas not used which is commonly added in countriesnwhere aprepitant is available. For individuals whoncannot afford apprepitant, gabapentin may be annoption.
