摘要

The State Key Laboratory of Millimeter Waves was founded in 1991 upon the approval of both the State Planning Commission and the State Education Commission. It was based on State Key Disscipline on Electromagnetics and Microwave Technology. The laboratory is located in the main campus of Southeast University, adjacent to the scenic Xuanwu Lake of Nanjing, a beautiful city with rich heritage of ancient cultures. The laboratory is concerned with the exploitation of the frequency spectrum resource at the range of millimeter waves. Its primary objective is to study the fundamental theory and technology for practical applications. It emphasizes the frontier and interdisciplinary research programs in the field of millimeter waves and the key technology involved in new types of millimeter wave systems, especially the fundamental researches on hybrid integrated circuits and monolithic integrated circuits. To keep in line with the current leading research areas, the laboratory is also devoted to the research of optical and microwaves/millimeter waves as well as the applications of high T_c superconductors to microwaves/millimeter waves. The frequencies of interest range from 1 to 300 GHz, covering almost the entire band of microwaves/millimeter waves.
