The preparation and characterization of 5-fluorouracil/ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (5-Fu/E- VAL) matrix coated with various polymeric materials are reported. The coating materials studied here include ethylene- Vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVAL), cellulose acetate (CA), poly-2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (PHEMA) and poly-methyl methacrylate (PMMA) with different diffusivities and thicknesses. To validate the proposed model equations, these coat- ed systems were investigated experimentally and quantitatively. The results show a good correlation between theoretical predictions and experimental data.
