As I have been talking with youthe past 2 months about the changing world of work, I have been personally reflecting on the counsel many CEOs offered during the Executive Summit at our annual conference: "Build your leadership skills." As we navigate the changing world of work and seek to influence our stakeholders, that advice has never been more important. As you likely know, a long-running debate centers around whether leaders are born or made. Various studies of twins reveal that genetics account for only 25% to 30% of the traits that typically result in holding a supervisory role, such as intelligence and extroversion. That leaves 70% to 75% of leadership traits that can be learned, which is great news for anyone seeking to become a better leader.
