Art-Inspired Recycling Symbol

Along with the first Earth Day celebration in 1970, the Container Corporation of America (a paperboard company) sponsored a contest to help promote resource conservation awareness. The contest called for the public to create a design that would help identify the company's paper products, which were made from using recycled resources. The design would be a symbol for paper recycling as an effective method of conservation.
