The Conviction of Safety

Convincing employees and management that safety is an investment requires sincere conviction. After all, safety takes time and effort. It takes longer to get the proper ladder, put on PPE or apply lockout/tagout devices than to just get the job done while taking a few risks. Taking what are perceived as acceptable risks is what many do at home and on the job, especially if the job has been accomplished many times without incident.
